40th Birthday

Hello readers,

I celebrated my 40th birthday a few days ago. It was a very low key, yet very special experience, spent with a few very special people in my life.

My husband took me to Rye the day before for a pre-birthday day trip, which I really treasured. We spent a wonderful day wandering around the ancient village and browsing in all the little shops. I found a lovely little craft store and purchased a set of three MDF/wooden Christmas trees to paint and embellish.

We had a nice cup of tea by a roaring fire in the oldest tea house in Rye, a very quaint little establishment indeed!

Then explored the local church and Rye Castle.  It was freezing cold but the sun had been shining the entire day so it was beautiful.

We ended the day by watching the sunset back in Hastings.

My birthday itself started with opening my presents and feeling very lucky, very loved and very blessed.

Then I needed a nap after all that excitement and delight.....my parents arrived later, along with family, and we had food and I got an exquisite birthday cake which was also absolutely delicious! My mum had herself baked me a very special Unicorn birthday cake - so I had TWO cakes and was thrilled beyond measure! Yay!

I got more presents and was on a blissful high surrounded by my nearest and dearest! All in all, a day of memories to cherish always.
